Division of Water Resources Field Offices

Four field offices serve Kansans across the state. Each field office is managed by a Water Commissioner who is the Chief Engineer’s agent. For people interested in water rights, these offices provide DWR with staff who are familiar with water issues in a particular area.

Some duties which are conducted by staff from each field office are:

  • Administering available water supplies
  • Providing assistance to the public
  • Processing certain changes to existing water rights
  • Conducting field inspections and investigations
  • Investigating complaints related to water
  • Determining compliance of water rights
  • Collecting data
  • Providing access to water right records
