DWR stands for the Division of Water Resources, a program within the Kansas Department of Agriculture. DWR administers water rights, issues permits for and inspects dams and other stream modifications, represents Kansas in interstate river compacts, and coordinates the National Flood Insurance Program in Kansas. DWR is headed by the chief engineer and organized into three programs: Water Appropriation, Water Structures and Water Management Services.
