2006-2007 Kansas Organic Certification Cost-Share Program Application
To receive cost-share funds, you must complete the 2006-2007 Kansas Organic Certification Cost-Share Program application.
2008 Cost Share Letter
Organic producers, handlers and certifiers were sent a letter on March 4, 2008 informing them that additional money ia available in 2008 through the National Organic Certification Cost-Share Program.
2008 Organic Cost Share Letter
USDA's Agriculture Marketing Service notified us that the National Orgainc Certification Cost-Share Program Agreement 12-25-A-4999 provides Kansas with $40,000 for cost-share assistance to organic producers or handlers who receive certification, or continue certification, from October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009.
2008 Specialty Crop Block Grant Recipients
Although Kansas is notable for its production of grains and livestock, the specialty crop industry is small, but continues to increase in importance. Targeted assistance made possible by the USDA specialty crop grants will help maximize the opportunities that exist for specialty crops in many areas of our state.

2009 Kansas Farmers' Market Month Proclamation
Governor Mark Parkinson signing a proclamation declaring August Kansas Farmers’ Market Month and August 2 to 8 Kansas Farmers’ Market Week. In the proclamations, Parkinson noted that the markets serve as an integral link between urban, suburban and rural communities and they give farmers and consumers an opportunity to interact.
