
Meat and Poultry Inspection Registration
If you want to register with the Kansas Meat and Poultry Inspection Program the requirements vary depending on what type of operation or business you have and your intended customers. If you perform multiple activities, you may need more than one registration and/or type of inspection.

If you are constructing a new facility or starting operations, the following guidelines are provided to assist you:
- Recommended Physical Standards for Meat and Poultry Slaughter and Processing Plants – Provides more information concerning building requirements.
- New Facility Handbook - Provides guidance for the regulatory requirements of sanitation and the design and construction of meat and poultry slaughter and processing plants.
- New Facility Survey– A survey of the facility completed by our inspection staff verifying that all requirements are met prior to operating.
Whether you are constructing a new facility or purchasing an existing facility, the Kansas Meat and Poultry inspection staff is available to review the state and federal requirements with you and answer any questions you may have. If you plan to purchase an existing facility, our staff is available to walk through with permission of the current owner/operator. Contact us for more information.
