Governor's agriculture advisory board to meet May 21
TOPEKA - The Governor's Agricultural Advisory Board will meet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wed., May 21, 2008, in the fourth floor meeting room of the Kansas Department of Agriculture, 109 SW 9th Street, Topeka.
The agenda for the meeting includes:
- a report from Secretary of Agriculture Adrian Polansky on agency activities, dairy labeling, the farm bill and ethanol;
- a recap of the 2008 legislative session;
- a report on agriculture security and continuity of operations planning;
a crop report from Kansas Agricultural Statistics; - a report from the Kansas Department of Commerce agriculture marketing division;
- a report on a state aquaculture plan being developed;
- a report on a grape and wine project involving extension offices in Kansas and Missouri.
The meeting will include time for public comment.
