Chemigation User's Permit

A Chemigation User's Permit must be obtained before chemigating. The permit is valid for one year, expiring on December 31. Renewal materials are mailed annually in December. To receive a Chemigation User's Permit, each applicant for a permit must be a Certified Chemigation Equipment Operator (CEO) or employ at least one individual currently certified as a Chemigation Equipment Operator.   

To apply, print the Application for Chemigation User's Permit, fill it out, and send it, the associated fees, and any associated Chemigation Equipment Operator examinations or fees to the address on the form. 

The Chemigation User's Permit application/renewal fee is payable annually only on wells or water points of diversion to be used in the chemigation process during current year:

  • $75 = first well/water point of diversion
  • $15 = each additional well/water point of diversion

The Chemigation Equipment Operator certification/recertification fee of $25 is payable every five years:

If you're sending fees for a Chemigation User's Permit and for one or more Chemigation Equipment Operator certifications, you may write a single check to cover the summation of the fees. Make check or Money Order payable to: Kansas Department of Agriculture.
