As of July 1, 2007, Kansas Law does require home inspectors to be certified commercial pesticide applicators in category 7A but home inspection businesses do not need a pesticide business license. However, if treatment is offered at the time of the inspection or during the communication of the inspection results, then a pesticide business license is also needed.
You may check Commercial Certified Pesticide Applicators to see if your home inspector is on our our list..
If you believe a home inspection was performed by someone without the proper commercial pesticide applicator certification, please notify the Kansas Attorney General's Consumer Protections Division.
