Identification

Cogon grass (Imperata cylindrica) - Off-center midrib on leaf blades, more apparent towards the tip of the blade. The ornamental variety is known as Bloodgrass.

Situation in Kansas

Cogongrass is a Federal Noxious Weed and is quarantined in Kansas under the Federal Noxious Weed Quarantine.  It would be a violation of the quarantine to sell, barter, trade, or move this invasive species.
