Shipping Used Agricultural Equipment
Used agricultural equipment can carry soil and plant litter. These materials may contain weed seeds, insects, or other injurious plant pests. Often other states will want assurance that used equipment meets their pest freedom standards.
Upon request, the Kansas Department of Agriculture will inspect used agriculture equipment and issue a document attesting to the freedom from injurious plant pests.
These inspections and certifications are handled in the same manner as all other exports of products from the State. The equipment generally will need to be free from all soil and plant litter before it can be certified for movement.
An application for inspection and certification is required and should be submitted as early as possible prior to the projected export date.
