Insect survey and reports
An insect survey and detection program was initiated in Kansas in 1954. This effort has two major functions:
- To detect exotic insects of regulatory significance
- To monitor insects established in Kansas
Information collected is used by program staff for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, facilitating the export of Kansas plants and plant products and initiating mitigation activities on insects that can be contained or eradicated.
Information is made available to program cooperators and other interested persons through periodic insect reports.
