Pesticide
Pesticide Products Application
Pesticide products are registered annually by submitting the Pesticide Products Application and the appropriate registration fee - $150 each for antimicrobial products and $210 each for all other pesticide products. The registration period is from January 1 to December 31. Registrations are not pro-rated for partial years. Current final printed labels including any other documents referred to within the label or attached to the container must be submitted.
Private Pesticide Applicator Certification
Initial certification must be accomplished by open book examiniation. Your local County Extension Office will conduct the examination. A score of at least 75% is required to pass test. Certification fee is $25 and certification is issued for 5-years. Certification expires on applicators birthday.
Commercial Pesticide Applicator Application
Initial certification requires taking and passing the general exam and exams for the category of certification. Exams are administered by KDA pesticide staff at various locations in the state. Exam schedule is available on-line at KDA. Examination fee is $45 per exam, general exam and exam retakes are also $45 each. Certification is issued for 3 years. Can also reciprocate from NE, OK, MO, IN, TX, or MN. Reciprocal fee is $75 per category.

Pesticide Business License
Pesticide businesses who advertise, offer for sale, sell or perform any service for the control of a pest or apply a pesticide on the property of another for compensation are required to obtain a Kansas Pesticide Business License. Each pesticide business license expires on December 31st of the calendar year for which it was issued. License fee is $140 per category. Must have proof of financial liability (insurance, escrow account, surety bond, or letter of credit) and employ at least one certified commercial applicator in each category or subcategory in which applications are made.
Pesticide Report of Change Form
A pesticide business licensee is required to notify the Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA), on a provided "Report of Change" form or in writing, within 30 days, of any change in business address, business name or service personnel involved in the application of pesticides. The licensee must submit the $15 fee required for each new uncertified individual employed to apply pesticides who worked for more than 10 days in a 30 day period or for 5 consecutive days.
Pesticide Registered Technician Application
Every pesticide business that applies pesticides for the control of wood-destroying, structural, ornamental, turf, or interior landscape pests and also employs one or more uncertified applicators is required by the Kansas Pesticide Law to have a registered technician training program. Businesses will have 90 days to ensure that their uncertified applicators become certified or are trained as registered technicians. Every uncertified applicator you hire must go through your initial training program even if they have been previously trained as a registered technician at another pesticide business. When a registered technician leaves your employ, their registration becomes void and they are considered an uncertified applicator. Fees are $25 per technician if you have paid the $15 uncertified applicator fee. Otherwise the fee is $40 per technician. Certification expires December 31. Registered technicians can be renewed yearly by completing 6 hours of training.
Pesticide Secondary Containment Application
Wherever bulk pesticides are stored, and an aggregate amount of all chemicals stored reaches 1,000 gallons for liquid or 3,000 pounds for dry in any 365-day period, secondary containment is required. The application is divided into different schedules, you need complete only the application schedule that applies to your specific type of facility or situation.

Pesticide Dealer Application
A pesticide dealer is any person or business who sells one or more pesticide products to someone for application (i.e., retails to end users). Each business owner and new business owner must register as a pesticide dealer before offering pesticide products for sale to an individual or business for application. Dealers selling pesticides only for houehold use that are applied undiluted are exempted from dealer registration. If a business has more than one location from which pesticides are sold, each physical location must register as a dealer. Dealer registration is nontransferable to new owners. The registration fee is two-tiered based on pesticide product sales during the previous year, $25 for a new application and for annual sales less than $2,500, $100 for annual sales of $2,500 or more. Expires June 30.

Fertilizer
Fertilizer Blender License
A license is needed for anyone who blends only registered commerical fertililzers at the request and according to speicifications furnished by the customer or purchaser. Registration Fee is $125 and expires December 31.

Lime Registration Application
Every manufacturer of liming materials to be distributed in Kansas must be registered. Registration Fee of $30 per quary and/or stockpile. Registration Certificate expires June 30. Registrant of lime materials is required to file an affidavit with the Kansas Department of Agriculture and keep adequate records showing the lime tonnage.

Inspection fee at $1.67 per ton. Reporting period from January 1 to June 30, and July 1 to December 31.

Soil Amendment Application
The Kansas Soil Amendment Act (KSA 2-2801 et. seq.) requires registration and proof of efficacy for any substance which is intended to improve physical, chemical or other characteristics of the soil, or improve crop production. Exempted from the act are commercial fertilizers; agricultural liming materials, including ground and slaked lime; unmanipulated animal manures; vegetable compost; and pesticides.
The registration fee is $100 for each product. All registrations expire on December 31 of the year in which the product is registered. Along with the application for registration, the applicant must submit a copy of the label and all advertisements, brochures, posters and television and radio announcements to be used in promoting the sale of the soil amendment.
