Groundwater
The Middle Arkansas River subbasin is above the Great Bend Prairie - High Plains aquifer. The Kansas Geological Survey, the Kansas Department of Agriculture – Division of Water Resources and the Big Bend Groundwater Management District No. 5 combine efforts to measure wells. They measure 132 wells in the subbasin. The Basin Management Team collects more well measurements. They are all available on the 
KGS Website. Water Level Charts include only winter measurements. These are in December, January and February.
