  • Voluntary program with a contract for four years, three years of payments
  • Additional incentives offered to water rights located within the targeted area
  • Conversion to dryland farming
  • Additional point given to those willing to enter the Water Rights Conservation Program (WRCP) for ten years
  • Applications can be taken at the NRCS service centers

Central Kansas Water Banking Association

  • Voluntary program available in the Big Bend Groundwater Management District #5
  • Water is deposited in the bank and leased out but with a 10% consumptive use savings

Water Transition Assistance Program (Water TAP)

  • Voluntary program targeted for the Rattlesnake Creek Subbasin due in part to the Rattlesnake Creek Partnership's efforts
  • Permanent dismissal of water right
  • Land is available for dryland farming
  • Monetary compensation is based on the value of the water right
